About Architecture
Architecture is both the process and the product of sketching, conceiving, planning, designing, and constructing buildings or other structures. Architectural works, in the material form of buildings, are often perceived as cultural symbols and as works of art.
Function
In architecture, functionalism (or 'form follows function') is the principle that rather than buildings being designed in accordance with past precedents or stylistic trends (aesthetics), the underlying purpose of the building should determine its form.

Elements
The primary elements of architecture include the point, line, plane, and volume. The order of these elements represents the transformation from a single point to a one-dimensional line, from a line to a two-dimensional plane, and finally, from a plane to a three-dimensional volume.
